How Are Your Oranges and Grapefruit Shipped and Delivered?

Florida Fruit Shippers® has mastered the fruit shipping and delivery process. We do this by following three key steps:

  1. Select the finest fruit in season from the top 1 percent of groves in Florida, Texas and California;
  2. Carefully hand pack each item with quality packing materials;
  3. Offer timely and safe delivery.

We have expanded our growing areas nationally in order to increase the premium varieties we can offer throughout the season, lengthen our shipping season and guarantee our supply of premium fruit regardless of regional weather, climate and other agricultural issues.

Florida's citrus growing regions produce a premium selection of juicy and flavorful fruit for the holidays and into the Winter. Each variety is noted for its own unique flavor, sweetness and abundance of juice. This fruit is carefully tended throughout the year, then picked at the exact moment of ripeness. This ensures that each piece of fruit is at its flavor peak.

Our Texas groves are especially noted for their later maturing specialty Grapefruit. February to May, our Central California groves bring forth a remarkably juicy and flavorful selection of new varieties and favorite classics.

Our premium citrus varieties include:

Once the fruit is harvested, it is carefully hand–packed in our premium gift tray packaging. What really sets Florida Fruit Shippers® apart is that every order is packed by hand by our experienced and highly trained gift fruit packers. Each gift box will receive a final inspection before moving directly to one of our gift fruit delivery trucks.

Our fruit is freshly harvested, packed and shipped weekly to most locations. During peak season, we ship daily. We ask that you allow 14 calendar days for your gift package to arrive from the time it is ordered. All fruit gift packages are carried to their US destination in climate-controlled gift fruit shipping trucks, then transferred to FedEx for final delivery to homes, offices and PO Boxes.

What If I Live in a USDA Restricted State or Outside the Lower 48 States?

There are a four states that are USDA restricted: Arizona, California, Louisiana and Texas. Fruit shipped to these states is specially handled to meet the agricultural requirements of the states. Florida Fruit Shippers® ships to these "Special Points" on a fixed schedule.

We ship to Alaska using FedEx 2-day Alaska delivery at additional charge based on package size. Unfortunately, we cannot ship fresh fruit to Hawaii. Non-fruit items can be shipped via FedEx delivery.

Florida Fruit Shippers® delivers to Canada weekly mid-November through April. Please note that there is an additional charge to ship to Canada as noted in product descriptions; the charge covers added shipping cost and import duties.

Did You Know?

Florida citrus is a berry and it does not ripen off the tree or bush. As with strawberries or blueberries, once the fruit is picked, the sugars gradually break down and the fruit loses its full sweetness and flavor. That's why fresh is best.

At Florida Fruit Shippers® we never ship Florida citrus from storage. And unlike oranges and grapefruit sold at retail, our Florida citrus is never artificially colored, dyed or flavored. That's why we can say, "Unless you live in a grove, you can't eat fresher, sweeter fruit."
